Here's to Alpha Phi Omega, loyal brothers we

True to self and to each other, firm in loyalty

Daily working, daily striving, ever more to be

True to Alpha Phi Omega, our fraternity

Brothers clasp the hands of brothers, strong the circle we

Ever mindful, ever serving all humanity

Now we raise our grateful voices, in our song to thee

True to Alpha Phi Omega, may we always be

(The verse is not recognized by the national fraternity)

Sing we now both men and women, brothers all are we

Hearts as one, we praise together, our diversity

Ever growing, ever learning, so that we may be

Joined in Alpha Phi Omega for eternity

The interest group at the University of Maryland that became the Epsilon Mu Chapter, Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity’s 132nd chapter, was organized in fall of 1946 under the direction of Professor Gordon D. Brigham of the Speech Department. Orville Morton Weston headed the group’s chartering efforts. On May 25, 1947, Weston’s petitioning group was granted a charter to form the Epsilon Mu Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega. The initiating chapter was Kappa Chapter from Carnegie-Mellon University.
